. ATTITUDES AND ALTITUDES (PT 5)
TEXT: Luke 17:12-19 (KJV)
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
Reading the text for today should make you see the need to do something unusual to help improve your rating in the eyes of many. Now we have been talking about the attitude of gratitude for some time now but this is not meant to be a theoretical thing; we are expected to be doing something practical about it. So right now we need to stop and do what we have been talking about. Instead of just looking at some other examples why don’t you become the example. Take out time to reach out to people around you right now or put a call through to somebody and let them know how much you appreciate them and how grateful you are to have them in your life. If you are sincere to yourself you will even see something to appreciate in the fellow you are dissatisfied or angry with. Above all, let the Lord know how grateful you are for his grace, love and mercies in your life.

ATTITUDES AND ALTITUDES (PT 3)

26th June
The personality of our Lord is one awesome personality that is just too amazing beyond comprehension. He is the only one who has been able to combine perfectly the nature of a Lion and a Lamb. When he is needed to handle a battle the Lion in him will roar out and when he is needed to help feeble man the Lamb in him will gloriously manifest. Unfortunately many Christians do not know how to make use of this to their advantage. They may have worked so hard to get certain progress in life but in one moment of unguarded reaction they will destroy all they have been working so hard to build. This is often due to their inability to walk in the attitude of gratitude. One who truly acknowledges the grace of God upon his life will be careful not to ruin everything the Lord has enable him to build or accomplish.

Those who cherish and celebrates the opportunity to partake in the Lion and the lamb nature would often behave themselves wisely. They know how to make friends, get access to important people and places and are very careful to maintain the protocol and keep the assess open because they know how to respect relationship. They celebrate and cherish assess to dignitaries. Examine yourself to be sure you are not the problem of your destiny and thank God for his grace.

ATTITUDES AND ALTITUDES (PT 1)

TEXT: TEXT: Luke 17:12-19 (KJV)

18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

I have noticed that there are some individuals that will not give you rest when they are having certain challenge or problem, but after a while you will not hear from them again. Then one day you suddenly bump into them and you ask Brother, how are you doing now? They will then say “Oh, I forgot to tell you, about two days after the last time we met everything became well”. This is nothing but ingratitude. But worse than this is when the fellow only returns for more help long after the previous problem has been taken care of. In other words, you are only in the picture when times are bad. They can only share their bad times with you but in their good times you never comes to mind. This is a terrible and annoying degree of ingratitude. Such persons are wicked because they only want you to share sadness and not in the joy of sweet victory. The Lord does not approve of this and that is why Jesus asked “, Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.”

Are you among the nine who failed to show gratitude? Examine yourself and make sure you are not guilty of ingratitude.

. THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE (PT 4)

 20th June
A grateful man stands a better chance to keep things going in his favour than a fellow who depends on his skill. Ecclesiastes 9:11c (KJV) reveals that skill is not a guarantee that a fellow will be favoured ahead of others. It started by saying
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong,...” then went on to say “... nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.”

In the attitude of gratitude we acknowledge that it is the grace of God in our lives that makes the difference. We often complain of not having enough money, time, opportunity etc but the truth is that most of the time we have failed to make the most of the money, time and opportunities we were blessed with. According to the scripture, if we have been faithful and grateful with the little we have more will be added.
When the ten lepers were told to go show themselves to the priest on the way they immediately noticed that they have been healed from their leprosy but only one saw the need to turn back to say thank you. The other nine did not see the need to stop and come back to say thank you and the Lord saw their action as ingratitude. It is possible that some would have said Well, let me wait for some time to be double sure that this thing is true. But the fact that they can obviously see the difference should have made them at least acknowledge that something wonderful is happening to them. Most of the time, some people who want to wait to be double sure end up not getting the sealing of their blessing. When I took time to pray for someone and the person comes to testify that something good has begun it gladdens my heart and motivates me to uphold them in prayer until it is perfected.

THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE ( PT. 3)
TEXT: Luke 17:12-19 (KJV)

13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
When you see a man who is proud you will see a man who has forgotten were the Lord took him from. On the contrary, a grateful man is one who consciously make the effort to show appreciation for any good favour shown him. a gratitude test will reveal to us that most of us have become ungrateful. For example, lets try to sincerely answer the following questions:
1.      When was the last time you called to say THANK YOU to the one who help get your job, business or that important contact?
2.      When was the last time you went to someone to confess to him/her that you acknowledge without their contribution or influence you it would not have been easy?
3.      Do you ever think that your last expression of gratitude is enough and there is no need to mention it again? If you do you lack wisdom.
If you do not get tired expressing gratitude, your helper will always be willing to help you.

From today’s text is obvious that the Lord is happy with those who return to say thank you and is sad with the attitude of ingrates. Show some gratitude today and win for favour from above.

. THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE ( PT. 2)

. THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE ( PT. 2) JUNE 18TH
TEXT: Luke 16:10-14 (KJV)
10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?
13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
In life most of us never seem to have enough and in our desire to have more many have lost the attitude of gratitude. While praying, most people spend less than 2 minutes to thank God, about 10mins complaining and the lager part to ask for some personal desires. We often forget where the Lord took us from and what he has done for us. This is the reason many have become impatient and very desperate.  The man who is working as a junior staff has quickly forgotten that when he was jobless he had promised to be grateful for any job. Now he can see is that it is taking God too long a time to make him a senior staff. Until we learn how to be grateful and faithful with little we may not qualify for a greater blessing. Stop being grumpy and star right away to ask God for mercy and appreciate him for his faithfulness to you. No matter what, choose to be so grateful until it becomes obvious to all and you will be amazed what the Lord will do with you. Make more effort to be grateful today.

. THE CULTURE OF THE KINGDOM (2 Corinthians 5:12-17)

. THE CULTURE OF THE KINGDOM (2 Corinthians 5:12-17)

Sometimes we forget to appreciate and celebrate the gift and grace of God upon others who are meant to be a blessing to us. Without the contribution of the other fellow your weakness and inabilities will become more obvious and you are likely to be less fulfilled. Take sometime today to appreciate this difference.
CONTEMPLATION
“To be able to touch lives beyond the intellect is not in
our human abilities. Our skill with languages, theology, psychology,
and theories is not sufficient to bring down the glory.
This is exclusively the work of the Holy Spirit.” FFPW p97
The opinion, idea, temperament, and the disposition of people around us are grossly inadequate to reveal to us the culture of the kingdom. Often than not what we understand and pride ourselves in is only a facade and it is a terrible mistake to settle for such obscurity and expect to see the glory of God. In every spirit filled individual there is this innate propensity to gravitate towards the culture of the kingdom if we do not allow the philosophy of man to cloud our vision. Too many people enslave themselves to the views of scholars. They are quick to include “according to ....” but hardly ever make use of “the Lord told me” or “the Lord showed, revealed to me.” The philosophies and positions of mortal men are fallible and limited in relevance from one generation to the other but the ways of the spirit are eternal. Before you step out with that wonderful idea take time to be double sure it will stand the test of time (1 Cor. 2:13, Col. 2:8 and 1 Cor. 1:19-21).
PRACTICAL ISSUES
We are only susceptible to that we already admire and celebrate. Be careful what you adore, it may enslave you for good or bad.
It is your responsibility to commit the word of God to your mind until your mind is set to process everything through the eyes of the Spirit. Do something productive today.
It is an error to commit to your mind the writings of other men without enough study of the word of God. Apply Col. 3:16.

THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE ( PT. 1)

 June 16th
TEXT: Luke 16:9-13 (KJV)
9  And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
It was Zig Zigler who said “Your attitude will determine your altitude” and this is so true. So many people are in a hurry to climb the ladder of success that they fail to pull off the slippery shoes of bad attitude. They may be seen to be making some progress but because their shoe has no grip they suddenly slip off and have to start all over again. A lot of setbacks which are blamed on bad luck or witchcraft are only the consequences of ingratitude. The word of God says “ He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much” Luke 16:10 (KJV).  If you know how to be grateful for every opportunity you will open the door for more glorious opportunities.  Often than not, we are the ones who determine how far we can rise in life. Some people have not gone so far yet others around them cannot breath. Their attitude is choking life out of others and the one who was responsible for their lifting begin to regret giving them the opportunity. Before they were given the opportunity they were very submissive, diligent and productive but after the recognition they became swollen headed looking for respect and concern about the benefit that goes with their position. It will be a mistake for any boss or organization to lift them higher. Don’t make your present position your last bus stop, humble yourself and you will see that God has more in store for you.

THE GLORY OF UNITY (PART 4)

THE GLORY OF UNITY (PART 4) June 11th
TEXT: Psalm 133:1-3 (KJV)
1  Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2  It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
3  As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
The power and force of unity is second to none. When a man operate in his own ability he is able to achieve some result but when it is a coming together of several abilities and gifting there is almost nothing that will be impossible for them to accomplish. That’s why our text for today started with a call to attention “Behold” and ended with an exclamation.
The writer then went on to compare the effect and power of unity with the sacred anointing oil poured on the head of the holy priest of Israel Aaron. It also gave an indication that unity would become possible and effective when it flows from the head of the leader. This shows that it is much more possible for a home to be united when the father promotes unity, a body or group will be able to work in unity when the leader of the group or unit is actively involved in promoting this unity, A church is likely to work together with other churches when the pastor is not apprehensive about his members being snatched by another pastor and a nation would be more progressive when the leaders are people interested in the progress of all than in their selfish agenda. When this happens, the tranquillity that comes from unity will cause an unusual blessing to rest over the place like the dew of Hermon upon mount Zion. And it ended with these words “there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”  When we get to this point “there” we will begin to see the true blessing of unity. If you truly love life and wish to be blessed, then you should do all you can to promote unity because there are blessings you will not be able to walk in until you get to the place of unity. Go for it and go for it with all your heart and might.

CREATE THE ATMOSPHERE AND GET THE RESULT 2

CREATE THE ATMOSPHERE AND GET THE RESULT 2 (Exodus 33:7-11)
THANK God for those who put you on your toes, without them you may not have developed extra wisdom and sensitivity. They are your training ground for the real battle.
CONTEMPLATION
Some times in life we are more concern about pleasing others to our own detriment. This  is where we are just too nice to a fault. It is wrong for you to always allow some people have their way only when such actions always leave you frustrated and unfulfilled. We surrender to the will of God not to the will of man. If the Lord is stirring up to excuse yourself from a place or group of people don’t try to play nice, walk away. If the radio station will not play edifying music play your own music. Choose where you want to be and dwell on the things that will take you there.
PRACTICAL ISSUES
You may not be responsible for who your parents are but you are responsible for the children (result) you give birth to. Therefore be careful what impregnates your mind.
Joy is by choice so is sadness. Choose right.

SUPERNATURAL SPEED & GRACE **

SUPERNATURAL SPEED & GRACE **
TEXT: 1 Kings 18:41-46 (KJV)
41  And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
42  So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
43  And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
44  And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
45  And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
46  And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

From our passage it became very clear that Elijah was able to get the result he got because he refused to settle for a cheap proclamation. He went up the mountain to pray because he knew there was something to contend with. When Ahab and his wife Jezebel led the children of Israel to worship Baal Elijah knew that they positioned themselves for a judgment from God; actually when Elijah prophesied that there will neither be due nor rain he was only decreeing the judgment of God already written down in the law of God against Israel as a punishment against the sin of idolatry (see Leviticus 26:1, 14 & 19, Deut 28:15 & 23). This curse becomes effective because the presence and blessing of God is withdrawn from that particular life of place and when this happens the power of darkness now has right to dominate and reign over that territory.  When the power of darkness dominates the heaven becomes closed and the evil one becomes the prince of the power of the air. When the evil one is the prince of the power of the air it will begin to contend with every blessing meant for the place like the prince of Persia in Daniels time. It was only by fervent prayers such dominion is broken. When Daniel kept on praying he got his breakthrough because the angel Michael was sent to contend with the prince of Persia and in similar manner when Elijah went up Mount Carmel to pray he was contending with the powers that have sealed the heavens. As he offered up his prayers the power of God tore open the heavens and the first cloud was released.  Any man who will experience supernatural speed must be relentless in prayer. Too many of us sleep or give up before or break. Contend in prayer against that barrier and you will see the glory of God.

THE GLORY OF UNITY (PART 3)
TEXT: Psalm 133:1-3 (KJV)
1  Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2  It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
3  As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

The true glory of a place or a group of people can never be actualized until they choose to walk together in unity. There is nothing that destroys a place as much as when people are more passionate about their selfish gain than in the collective progress of all. When in a body or organization people are more concern about their personal gain they may on their own make great progress but it will create a great imbalance in the body or organization because eventually there will arise a serious class mentality. When this is the case a strong disparity between the rich and poor, the high class and the low class will become a concern. In this place, peace is not easy to come by as some people will always have something to complain about.
It is therefore imperative for every one of us to do all we can within our power to promote unity. It is true that some persons may want to make this an impossible mission for you but that notwithstanding, you must try to do all you can to promote peace and harmonious living for in this is a greater blessing.
