POWER AND GLORY (PART 2).

 JANUARY  6TH.

TEXT: Psalm 110:1-3King James Version (KJV)

110 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

It became clear from verse one of our text that there are steps to follow for anyone to be able to walk in power and glory. It is not enough to sit down, it is very important to be sure you are positioned at His right hand, which is symbolic of the place of power and divine favor (see Psalm 16:11). When we are under the shadow of the Almighty God, we are there impacted with the anointing that flows from His presence. As we get clothed with that anointing, we become anointed and this is where real power and glory follow our lives.  It is only when you have gotten to this place that your enemies easily become your footstool. What do you mean? Someone may want to ask. Each time we grow spiritually by reason of drawing closer to God, we are lifted to a higher realm of glory and as we get continually lifted, we get to that point where we are so anointed above the principalities that are contending with us. That is when they become our footstool. If you must become and stay relevant this year, then you must find some time to soak yourself in the presence of the Lord. Until you do this, you cannot truly experience power and glory.

POWER AND GLORY (PART 1)

JANUARY 5TH.

2016 has been declared the year of “Power and Glory" by the leading of the Lord to the President of this great vision. By some personal plan I would not want to call this the year of “Power and Glory” but I know I heard this in my spirit when I was at a personal retreat far away in Benue state Nigeria. Once I have heard from the Lord I have no choice than to follow His leading for my life and of is people. So please open your heart to follow the leading so you don’t miss out in the purpose and blessings of God this year.

A very careful study of our text will reveal to you that the theme will only become a reality after there is total obedience to the command of the Lord in verse one. Each one of us must learn to sit still early in the year. It is in the process of sitting still that we are endued with power from on high at the presence of the Lord. Too many of us are just too restless and as a result such persons are not able to carry the fragrance of the glory and power of God. The anointing means to rub off, and as we stay under the glory of God we become saturated with the kabod of God and when it is time to step out, we will step out with some of the content of God himself. If you must walk in power and glory in 2016 and beyond, then we must find quality time to tarry in His presences.

A QUICK WORK (Part 3)

JANUARY 4TH.

TEXT: Romans 9:25-28King James Version (KJV)

25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

With the close of the last year went the records and account of last year and that is the reason each of us must learn to look ahead in hope. Everything in the past is gone with the past. Forget about the challenge of yesterday and square up for the blessings of this new day. Let the pain of last year be gone with the account of last year. Don’t even let the victories and successes of last year prevent you from adequately preparing for this year. Our God is ready to do a quick work and only those who are sensitive enough to position themselves early will maximise the opportunity.

Refuse to waste precious opportunities that comes with the blessing of the new year. Do all you can to stay on the alert and make sure you are at your very best in every circumstances. Go after every assignment with focus and passion and start making your impact early. Don’ be lazy to start late because you may not be able to recover to be able to catch up with those who are able to take off early.

PRAYER IS THE SOUL’S SINCERE DESIRE

JANUARY 3RD.

TEXT: Mathew 6:5-8; Luke 11:1-4; Colossians 4:2, 12; 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Living a life without prayer is like building a house without nails
Prayer is releasing the energies of God. For prayer is asking God for prayer is asking God to do what we cannot do ourselves.

Memory Verse: Men ought always to pray and not to faint (Luke 18:1 KJV)

Except for Charles Wesley or Isaac Watts, no writer has made a greater contribution to English hymnody than the author of this text, James Montgomery. He wrote more than 400 hymns, many of which are still in popular use: “Stand Up and Bless the Lord,” Angels from the Realms of Glory,” in the Hour of Trial”, and According to Thy Gracious Word.

Though trained for the ministry, Montgomery spent his lifetime as a journalist and newspaper editor. He became widely known for his writings and poetry, yet when once asked, “which of your poems will live?” he replied, “None, sir, except a few of my hymns.” His words were prophetic. It is by his hymns that Montgomery is remembered, rather than by his more classic poetry.

Many have acclaimed this hymn as one of the finest definitions and descriptions of prayer to be found in short form. Such colourful metaphors as “hidden fire,” “a sign,” a falling tear,” an upward glance,” “vital breath,” and “native air” describe in poetic meaning of prayer – understood by experience, yet often difficult to express in words. Perhaps those terms will lead you to a new appreciation for the “soul’s sincere desire.”

Prayer is the soul’s desire, uttered or unexpressed, the motion of a hidden fire that trembles in the breast.

Prayer is the burden of a sign, the falling of a tear, the upward glancing of an eye when none but God is near.

Prayer is the simplest form of speech that infant lips can try; prayer, the sub lamest strains that reach the majesty on high.

Prayer is the Christian’s vital breath, the Christian’s native air; his watchword at the gates of death: he enters heav’n with prayer.

O Thou by whom we come to God, the life, the truth, the way! The path of prayer thyself hast trod: Lord, teach us how to pray!

ACTION POINT: Reflect on the importance of prayer in your daily life. Determine to make an even greater use of this spiritual power throughout the day. “AMAZING GRACE; 366 INSPIRING HYMN STORIES FOR DAILY DEVOTION”

A QUICK WORK (Part 2)

JANUARY 2ND.

28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

Most of the time, in life not many of us are able to make ourselves ready for the blessings of God. Too many of us are distracted and carried away by things that do not matter. Often than not, our God is set to do great and glorious things for us but we are not always ready. Do all you can to attract the blessings of the Lord early in this year. I sense the Lord is ready to do a quick work to release our blessings this year but we have to be well positioned for it. From our passage you will find out that those who were not considered to be qualified were made partakers of the blessings of God. If you will play your part our God will certainly not fail to fulfil his part. The glory of heaven is greater than what any of us can calculate. Don’t be caught unprepared thinking there is still much time in 2016. Prepare and you will get your blessing to testify early for the Lord is set to do a quick work.

A QUICK WORK (Part 1)

You are welcome to the year 2016. It is by the grace of God we all made it to a glorious new year. Many who were more careful did not make it but you did. Inspite of the storms and trails of 2015, you made it. Many did not give you the chance to survive but you did not only survived, you also triumphed against all odds. Look at the battles you went through and give the Lord the glory for keeping you through. Don’t be afraid of the challenges of this New Year, He who saw you through the last will do it again. Keep your eyes on the Lord from this very day and then wait to see the glory that will follow.
The Lord is set to do a quick work in your favour and if you will let Him lead you will testify. Spend quality time to thank the Lord from this month and watch Him go ahead of you to fight for you for the rest of the year.
