HYMN - GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS.

 NOVEMBER 8TH



TEXT: Psalms 9:10, 36:5-7; 1-02:11, 12; James 1:17.

Memory Verse: Because of the Lords great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations3:22, 23)


One of the important lessons the children of Israel had to learn during their wilderness journey was that God's provision of manna for them was on a morning by morning basis. They could not survive von old manna nor could it be stored for future use (exodus16:19-21).

While many enduring hymns are born out of a particular dramatic experience, this was simply the result of the author's "morning by morning" realization of God's personal faithfulness in his daily life. Shortly before his death in 1960, Thomas Chisholm wrote:


My income has never been large at any time due to impaired health in the earlier years which has followed me on until now. But I must not fail to record here the unfailing faithfulness of a covenant keeping God and that He has given me many wonderful displays of His providing care which have filled me with astonishing gratefulness.


Thomas Obadiah Chisholm was born in a crude log cabin in Franklin, Kentucky. From this humble beginning and without the benefit of high school or advanced education, he somehow began his career as a school teacher at the age of 16 in the same country school where he had received his elementary training. after accepting Christ as savior, he became editor of THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD and later was ordained as a Methodist minister. Throughout his long lifetime, Mr. Chisholm wrote more than 1,200 sacred poems, many of which have since become prominent hymn texts.


Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father!

LIBERATE YOURSELF FROM A SLAVISH MENTALITY (PART 5)

 NOVEMBER 7TH


TEXT: Romans 8:14-19Amplified Bible (AMP)

14 For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “[a]Abba! Father!”

16 The Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit [assuring us] that we [believers] are children of God.

17 And if [we are His] children, [then we are His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance], if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory.

18 For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us!

19 For [even the whole] creation [all nature] waits eagerly for the children of God to be revealed.



Success in life is not the exclusive reserve of a special race or tribe. Any man who cannot see himself succeeding will still end up a failure even when he stumbles on success. As long as all you see is the difficulties of life it will become impossible to triumph in life. Whatever has your attention controls your life and destiny. There is no way you will fulfil the purpose of God without staying your focus on Jesus. The reason why the enemy can afflict many is because they have taken their eyes off the Lord. It is looking unto Jesus that we develop our faith and it is in a continuous focus on Him that we grow a faith that is capable of generating the power that lifts us out of the limitations of life. As many who will fix their eyes on Jesus will certainly be delivered. God wants to take over your destiny.

This is for somebody, you have been struggling, and are tired of it. If you have done all you can sincerely do from your heart and not much seem to have changed, relax. To someone, the Lord is saying, stop trying by your might and let me take full control. If you will do this, your life will never be the same again.

Today, make a resolution to stand for the Lord and stand so you will be able to withstand all the wiles of the enemy on your mind. Surrender everything to Him, live for Him and do all you can to bring Him glory then your generation will see what He will do for and through you.

Sometimes, the circumstances of life makes it so hard for some people to imagine a life full of bliss but I dear to say, that for a user of this devotional, the Lord is saying to you, in the space of five years people would not believe that you are the same person. It looks like you are a nobody right now, but all God wants you to do is to stand for Him. People may think you are crazy but stand. Too many of us have given up too quickly. Refuse to give up, God is saying to you today my child just do all you can to stand and then nothing will be able to stand against you.

Some years back, not many people believed in what I was doing, but I decided to hold on to my dream. I refused to give up on what the Lord spoke to my heart. When others left I held on and now things are different, as God has brought The Glorious Fountain Ministries to an unimaginable place for many and an enviable place desired by others, but this is not the ultimate.

Your light must be made manifest for all to see (Matt. 5:14). Do not listen to peoples’ failure stories, even if this is a norm in your family, receive the power to break that stronghold of failure now in Jesus name. Learn from the life of Jabez by taking advantage of every divine help you can get and then do all you can to break free from the gripe of a slavish mentality.

LIBERATE YOURSELF FROM A SLAVISH MENTALITY (PART 3)

NOVEMBER 5TH

16 The Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit [assuring us] that we [believers] are children of God.

The life of some Christians are an irony of what the word of God promise us. Almost everything in their lives seem to be completely at variance with what they confess. It is not every challenge in the lives of many Christians that brings glory to God because they are the cause of their woes and set back. It is a shame that many Christians exhibit the attitude and character of mediocrity and then pray for extraordinary results. Such prayers are often ignored by God because it will amount to validating mediocrity should God grant them their heart desire. 

They are the kind of people that are unable to have permanent or sustained success in life. Some of us experience glory for a while, then shame, then some glory but then shame again, but this happens because we are not consistent in our walk with God that should give us understanding as we continually behold Him. The Bible says as we behold Him, we will be transformed from glory to glory. As long as your eyes are on Him, the glory remains on you and becomes more glorious. But if you take your eyes off Him, the glory gives way for shame. If you decide to stay fixed and unwavering on Him at all times with exemplary diligence in every aspect of life, the world will see 

His glory in you like never before. Liberate yourself from every slavish mentality by adopting an aggressive approach to equip yourself with the instructions from the word of God. Snap out of the life of a mediocre.

Everybody talk about living a glorious life but the sad thing is that they are doing nothing to attract that glory. This is the truth about the matter, without the glory you will go nowhere and you will be easily ignored by others.

Until a soul is liberated from the slavish mentality, even when the fellow claim to be born again nothing tangible will be recorded about them. They gave their lives to Christ but because they have not spent quality time in the word of God, they are still living with the philosophy of the life under the dominion of darkness. We understand from the gospel of John 6:62-63 that the words of the Lord they are spirit and they are life. This is the word that will impart the life of the Spirit upon a soul but too many are still slaves of the enemy in their mentality. 

They speak of a life in Christ but they manifest a life under bondage. Our text tells us that we have not received the spirit of bondage, the spirit that cripples us with fear. There is a user of this devotional who have been ignored just like Jabez (1 Chron. 4:9) was, but God is saying to you right now, child of God, it is time to arise and shine for His glory is risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1). You have been ignored long enough and it is time for you to take the lead. There is a greater glory for you do your part and you will see it become a reality.

Rom. 8:19 says creation is waiting for the manifestation of “sons” not slaves, some of us have a slave mentality, and until that changes you will not be able to go far. God will not commission you with a slavish mentality. The Israelites went round in the wilderness for forty years because they had a slave mentality. It took forty years before they were able to start liberating themselves from that mentality.


How long are you going to be walking around in the wilderness of life with a slavish mentality? The reason why somethings are not happening for some of us is because we have not had a shift in our mindset yet. So many desire great and glorious things and they talk about it but their lifestyle and attitude are a far cry from what they desire. Any desire without a corresponding drive and passion to see it become a reality will only end up a dream. But diligent and purpose driven people rigorously pursue their aspirations until it begins to manifest. They get offended and dissatisfied with failures and excuses but the moment the glory comes, something begins to leap on your inside.

Those with slavish mentality are not bothered when they fail again and again to overcome certain challenges of life. They are quick to come up with excuses for their failures but such excuses are the reason they remain the slaves of mediocrity. So many Christians claim to be full of the Spirit of God but the life they live is a far cry from that of the sons of God spoken about in our text for today. Refuse to give exec uses for your slavish lifestyle and watch the Lord transform your life and destiny.

REST IN THE GLORY UNTIL IT REST ON YOU (PART 2)

NOVEMBER 2ND

TEXT: Exodus 33:11-14King James Version (KJV)

11 And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

12 And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.

13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.

14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.


Too many believers are too restless and busy about that which cannot last. Too many people cannot bear the pain of allowing God to break them till they become ready. Only those who are broken in the presence of God can break forth without breaking down. If you will know how to pray and breakthrough in prayer, then you have to start by taking your eyes away from every distraction that will come your way, only then will you experience the glory.

Too many of us rush away from the presence of God before the Lord is done with us. In this same passage, Moses took time to ask God to show Him the way, which speaks of the heart and desires in the heart of God but not many are interested in that. Until you find the way, you cannot find the glory.

All the while Moses was praying to God, Joshua was there and he saw the way Moses dialogued with God. Until you find the presence of God, you cannot rest in the glory.

If you will deposit your life on God’s altar, His glory will flow through you. You get to a point where nothing else really matters except the glory, then things begin to happen miraculously. When the devil tries to attack you God’s glory on you will frustrate his attacks.

Beloved, spend time in the presence of God, that is where the glory will rest on you as you encounter divine visitation and total transformation. If you truly seek Him, you will find Him.
