THE GLORY OF THE KINGDOM (PART 4)

THE GLORY OF THE KINGDOM (PART 4)
TEXT: Mark 9:1-3. New International Version (NIV)
And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.”
The Transfiguration.
After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them.
When Jesus said, “let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven”, it became obvious that we have a role to play in it all. It is true He made us the light of the world but, it is up to you to let your light shine before men. The truth is that your light will shine when you are ready to let it shine.
In all of this your purpose for wanting to shine is of great essence. Tell the Lord you are ready for Him to use you so the world can give Him praise. Not so the world can know how important you are nor for you to make a name for yourself, but that the world can give Him the praise. There is a higher life, a spiritual life, that those who have given their lives to Christ have. Paul speaking about this life in Rom. 8:19 said the world is waiting for its manifestation through the sons of God. In earlier verses he had said as many that are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. The prerequisite to being a son of God is to have the leading of the Spirit. If we have the Spirit’s life we would be profitable to the kingdom of God. If we claim to be sons and there are no profitable manifestations for the kingdom of God, then we are like the servant who hid his talent in the ground. So many of us have buried our gifts on the inside and the world cannot see the glory of God through our lives. Do not let this be the end of your passion and craving for God’s glory. It is time for the world to see Jesus and encounter His glory. There is this higher life that we need to walk in. God wants us to rise up to a new life (Isaiah. 60:1). Make up your mind to rise to this new life, which is the eternal life that brings glory to our Father in heaven. You can make it if you will only believe.
