SEE THE ADVANTAGES IN YOUR DISADVANTAGE (PART 1)

APRIL 28TH

TEXT: Judges 6:11-16 King James Version (KJV)
11. And there came an angel of the Lord, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
12. And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
13. And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
14. And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
15. And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.
16. And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.

God did not place you here on earth to frustrate you. It is often our choices that determines whether we will end up in failure or success. There is something that the Lord has planted in you that is intended to give you an advantage in life but not many are able to identify it. Some times in life, your advantage may even be some disadvantages.

The disadvantages of some has given them a niche which has become a calling that gives them advantage over others. The man Nick who was born without limbs was not celebrated at birth but somehow somewhere in life he was able to understand purpose and he began to celebrate his uniqueness and today, the world celebrates him. He travels around the world encouraging many to succeed simply because he saw the advantages in his disadvantages.
When Gideon was thinking about how unfortunate he was to be born in a time when they were living as slaves to the Midianites, he did not know that it was in that misfortune he has been destined to rise to greatness. May God open our eyes to see the advantages in our disadvantage.

As unfortunate as you think you are, there is a divine fortune waiting to be discovered. If you will let the word of God nourish your soul, one day you will find your place and surprise your world. Don’t give up because the Lord has great and glorious plans for you than you can ever imagine. Just trust in God.
