TRUE GREATNESS (PART 1)

APRIL 21ST

TEXT: Psalm 32:6-8 Kings James Version (KJV)
6.    For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.
7.    Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
8.     I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Everyone you see today who is at one level of greatness or the other had a turning point in their lives. Yours’ can also be a story that will catch the attention of many if you will let the Lord Jesus take the lead in your life. The secret to your life’s success is hidden in Christ Jesus. But until you come into an intimate relationship with Him, you will continually struggle to attain true greatness. Let’s take some time to consider verse 8 of our text again.
“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with my eye.”
From this passage, it is obvious that you can only arrive at true greatness by the divine instructions of the Lord. Common sense is good but you cannot rely on just common sense and be truly great. Common sense is that which is common to all and would at best produce common results, but only those who obey divine instructions arrive at true greatness.
The Lord also said, “I will teach thee in the way which thou shalt go:” So many people have stepped out with great potentials and resources only to end up a failure. They had what they needed to succeed but they missed “the way” to their desired destination. The way is not a geographical location, neither can it be found by a compass or your GPS. The way is a person. Jesus say I am the way…
It is in the place of your personal relationship with Jesus that you are able to know the way to true greatness. The one you learn from determines the limit of your greatness. You cannot be taught by the Almighty and become a nonentity. Except you have your face before the Lord, you cannot be guided by his eye.
Seek His face every day and He will show you the strategies to true greatness.
May the grace and glory of the Lord decorate your life today in Jesus name.
