THE BATTLES OF LIFE

THE BATTLES OF LIFE
TEXT: Judges 14-3(amp)
he battles of life are often interwoven with the pursuit of life\'s ambitions. Therefore if any man desire a successful and peaceful life he must then watch his ambitions. The road to success is often covered with subtle hidden snares. Oblivious of this danger lurking around his soul in seek a philistine bride, he threw caution to the wind and went to the camp of the enemy. Not even the rebuke of his parents was strong enough to make him abandon his useless pursuit. He made them do what he wanted (see Judges 14:1-3) but he also paid dearly for it. Many young people who once claim to be deeply in live with the angel of their lives have often returned armed with several evidences why they cannot continue to live with a demon after less than 2 years in the marriage. Like Samson, if they were patient enough to listen to the counsel of those who stand over them as fathers and mothers they would have delivered their souls from the enemy\'s trap and gotten for themselves a peaceable and blissful life. The battles of life are too intricate for your little brain to handle. Let God help you and you will see him decorate your life with amazing testimonies. Shalom!

THE BENEFIT OF GIVING Pt. 1

THE BENEFIT OF GIVING Pt. 1
TEXT: Acts 20:33-35 (TLB)
33 "I have never been hungry for money or fine clothing—
34 you know that these hands of mine worked to pay my own way and even to supply the needs of those who were with me.
35 And I was a constant example to you in helping the poor; for I remembered the words of the Lord Jesus, ’It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ "

If anyone truly understands the benefit of anything it affects the way they would respond to the opportunities. We live in a world where the majority is more concern about how much they can grab for themselves than they can bless others with. Most people will suddenly become lukewarm once they realize that a particular service will not add more money to their pocket or prestige to their name. But from our text of today we see how the Apostle Paul laboured to see to it that the need of those with him are met and that the poor can be given some help. He then went on to explain the motivation for his actions by quoting the Lord Jesus saying ’It is more blessed to give than to receive.’  When a man chooses to be a blessing to others, he provokes heaven to release more supply to him because it is obvious that once he is blessed others will be blessed too. When you choose to store your blessing in a container it has a maximum capacity but when you choose to be a distribution channel there is no limit to what you can accommodate. Make up your mind to be a blessing and you will be amazed the degree of glory that will come with it. ’It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

TRANSFORMED BY LOVE 1 (James 2:14-18.)
One outstanding factor common to every individual with extraordinary impact upon the lives of many is love. Mother Theresa, Billy Graham, Oral Roberts and many others touched the lives of many because they were motivated by love. What is your motivation?
CONTEMPLATION
Buried in the heart of every man is the desire to be recognized and celebrated but not many are willing to pay the price of self denial. The truth is that if you would let the Lord express His love for others through you will dwell in abundant grace, blessings and power. That you are approachable, friendly and lovely does not make you unholy or less anointed. Many houses of worship want to rise to prominence but only few bother to create the atmosphere that will make the difference.
“In an atmosphere saturated with love you are not motivated
by religious sentiments but by intimacy with God. In an
atmosphere of intimacy people reach out to God (in a vertical
flow) and to man (in a horizontal flow) as they worship joyfully
and willingly.” FFPW p106.
There is more that the Father desire to accomplish through us and sometimes the only hindrance to us walking in this realm of glory is our unwillingness to love at all cost. Your life can be sweeter and better if you are willing to do something about it.
PRACTICAL ISSUES
Consider and list out the lessons on love from James 2:14-18.

ANGELIC MINISTRY (PART 12)

AUGUST 18TH
TEXT: Matthew 18:10-11 (KJV)
10  Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
11  For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
There are countless number of stories about children who were visited or delivered by angels. The ease and frequency with which angels get involved in the lives of children does suggest that their innocence and purity of heart is a major difference between them and adults. Whenever you find an adult who enjoys such visitation by angels it is obvious there is something about that life. Children don’t need to pray before they enjoy the intervention on angels. From our passage Jesus made us to understand that their angels have constant access to the heavenly Father. In other words, there are angels assigned to children all over the world and that is why just when an evil is about to take place there will be a miraculous intervention. Children have had strange experiences and have been given strange messages that were just too much for their age.
When an adult decides to offend or harm a child that individual is in trouble because their angel will certainly react.  If you want to enjoy the covering and benefits of children then keep your heart and life from evil. Angels are real, if you are ready to live the life you will attract their services.

CONQUERING THE SPIRIT OF ERROR & DECEPTION (PART 2b)

15. CONQUERING THE SPIRIT OF ERROR & DECEPTION (PART 2b)
TEXT: 2 Corinthians 11:10-15 (KJV)
10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
11 Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

It is unfortunate that many believers are very gullible, once some people hear someone say, “I had a vision from God” or that the Lord appeared to them, they suddenly lose their sense of reasoning and become jittery as they swallow the message and instruction hook, line and sinker. Satan knows very well that this is the basic problem of many Christians and that is why time after time, he would renew the application of this approach. The scripture goes on to say in verse 15.
“Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”
Take note of the fact that the scripture says, “his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness...”
Why do they transform themselves as ministers of righteousness? Has it occurred to you that most of those who lead people astray often come with a message that seems to be emphasizing on holiness? But the truth is this, they are not truly emphasizing holiness; what they actually focus on is sectional doctrine that has a form of godliness but it is meant to call attention to and promote some individuals or organizations.
Instead of building the faith of people in God they make them become devoted to a form of religious practice. Instead of growing peoples’ faith in God through a strong emphasis on the study of the whole truth in the Bible, they pull out a few scriptures out of context to emphasize  more on the work of man and outward form of religion.
And it is so unfortunate that such requirements for someone to become acceptable to God are often attack against women and their way of dressing. I do not by any way support indecent dressing but I have found out that the requirement for righteousness outlined by these people is far too cheap and deficient. Holiness transforms a life from the inside out. God is too great to be reduced to dress code. Those who truly know Him cannot remain but help to be clean.

.ANGELIC MINISTRY (PART 11)

.ANGELIC MINISTRY (PART 11)
TEXT: Acts 12:6-11 (KJV)
6  And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7  And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
8  And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
9  And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.
10  When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.
11  And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

In the life of the Apostle Paul, there were different occasions where he was delivered from the wicked plans of the enemy by the timely intervention of angels. From the reading of our text for today it became so clear that sometimes some of the encounters some people have had may be perceived as a dream. When someone is in the kind of situation that Peter found himself in and there seem to be no way out many people will become discouraged like Peter that the thought of a divine intervention looks too good to be possible. But when the Lord has an assignment for somebody there is no way they can be cut off before they are done with the assignment.

On several occasions the Lord delivered the children of Israel from their enemies by sending angelic beings to their rescue. Are you living for God? Do you have a divine assignment to carry out? Then no one can terminate your life before your time. Those who live for themselves will have to protect themselves but those who are passionate about the work of God have the greatest insurance policy ever. What about you?

ASK GOD FOR HELP (PART 4)

ASK GOD FOR HELP (PART 4)
TEXT: Psalms 127:1-2 (TLB)
1 Unless the Lord builds a house, the builders’ work is useless. Unless the Lord protects a city, sentries do no good.
2 It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, fearing you will starve to death; for God wants his loved ones to get their proper rest.
Our lives are full of expectations and dreams. We want to be able to accomplish so much within our short life therefore we are either doing this or that and that’s where a number of us miss it. Psalm 127 says,Unless the Lord builds a house, the builders’ work is useless. Unless the Lord protects a city, sentries do no good”. Without God taking the lead in your lives all of your efforts are in vain. It has to be the Lord building the house before the house will become a reality. The sincere question we must ask ourselves is; whose idea is this?  We often start things lead by our own selfish ambitions and then want God to bless it. Sometimes in His mercies he allows us to have some victory but if we have asked for his help before we started it would have been far more glorious. If we are always careful to hear from God before you step out things will be different. It is possible that what we spent some time, energy and resource to accomplish God intend to give to us by favour. Somebody once said a day of favour is better than a life time of labour. From verse 2 of psalm 127 we learnt that it is useless to rise up early and then sleep late only to eat the bread of sorrow. Be more diligent to get God’s leading than to do anything. Ask God for help.

YOU ARE A DIVINE AGENDA (Philippians 2:12-15)

YOU ARE A DIVINE AGENDA (Philippians 2:12-15)
Sometimes we become oblivious of the reality of a divine agenda even with our lives thinking we or certain actions are inconsequential and that is a serious illusion. Make up your mind to make the most of today.
CONTEMPLATION
“ Every one of us has been carefully thought of before we
were assembled together and delivered to our generation. God
our Creator took time to put in place the things we need to succeed
in carrying out our divine assignments (2 Peter 1:2-3).” FFPW p104
By our decisions and actions we choose to occupy a realm of life that is either attractive or ignoble.  A man can choose to rise to a certain height and accomplish it if he has spent quality time in the presence of God to know what to do. Three to five years is enough time to pursue a dream and accomplish it to make a lasting impart in your generation. If you conceived it in the presence of God you will certainly deliver it by the grace of God (See Zachariah 4:5-7). Not every pursuit attract the grace of God. There is a great difference between your fleshy ambitions and a divine agenda.
“It is true that by the fall of Adam we inherited a fallen
nature, but by the redemption of Christ Jesus we can now have
divine access to the throne of grace and become partakers
of His divine nature and power (2 Peter 1:3 and Hebrews
4:14-16).” FFPW p  105.
PRACTICAL ISSUES
If you think your life does not really count take a look at the lives of those you think are making a difference and you will come to see that they also have their challenge.
Sometimes people are hardened to God because we have failed to manifest the glory of God to them. Choose to bring glory to God by doing something impactful with your life today.

ANGELIC MINISTRY (PART 10)

ANGELIC MINISTRY (PART 10)
TEXT: Revelation 1:9-11 (KJV)
9  I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
10  I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
11  Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. Revelation 2:1 (KJV)
1  Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;

In one of our previous devotion messages on this series on the ministry of angels, we read of how the prince of Persia contended with the angel sent to deliver the answer to the Daniels' prayer 21 days. It only when the angel Michael came to rescue the situation that he got his breakthrough. Just like as an evil spirit was assigned over Persia, there are angels assigned to cities or kingdoms. In like manner, there are angels assigned to churches, cities and nations.
This is where the worship of the community or nation plays a vital role. Whenever a people reject God they enthrone an evil spirit over their lives, city and nation. Whatever a group of people choose to worship becomes empowered to reign over their lives.
Our text in Revelation 2 speaks of the angel to the church of Ephesus as well as others. Such angels assigned to these churches, cities and nations are often very fierce looking and combat ready. Their primary duty is to help that work succeed. They fight against the enemy of that work and strengthen the members and allies of such. Among the angels assigned to churches, cities and nations we know of the angel Michael who is believed to be the angel assign over the nation of Israel and has helped the nation in their crucial moments. In the history of the Jewish nation dating back to the Bible as well as recent battles, there has been very strange and incomprehensible protection of Israel and her people. There were different times when enemies from different nations surrounded them and by some strange occurrence they were able to get help to escape the onslaught of their enemies. It has to be some supernatural presence to make this happen. The scripture says those who put their trust in the Lord shall not be confounded.
When a people enthrone God over their lives, they begin to record the kind of victory only a few can ever experience.
Where do you belong? Are you on the Lords' side? Trust in God.

ASK GOD FOR HELP (PART 2)

ASK GOD FOR HELP (PART 2)
TEXT: Psalm 121:1-8 (KJV)
1
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3  He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5  The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6  The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7  The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8  The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Too often we want to be in the driver seat of our lives, we want to be able to say I did this and that by me but all of that is foolishness. There is no way we will be able to accomplish anything tangible without God. Without God at the center everything will fall apart. Only God can give lasting and peaceful victory. If you are going through any challenge today don’t be too proud that you cannot ask God for help. Some of us would rather continue to struggle than humble ourselves and ask for help. Destroy every trace of pride and even go as far as calling someone to trust God with you for solution. Too many people are suffering and dying in their pride. What most of us do not know is that God want to get the glory as touching that challenge you are battling with. Swallow your pride and let God glorify his name. You would have made greater progress if you have taken time to acknowledge openly that you need God to help you. The word of the Lord in Psalm 124:8 says, “Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” As you go into this day don’t be ashamed to trust in the Lord. Give him his rightful place and you will be amazed what will follow.

ANGELIC MINISTRY (PART 9)

ANGELIC MINISTRY (PART 9)
TEXT: Judges 6:12-16 (KJV)
12  And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
13  And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
14  And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
15  And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.
16  And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.

A careful study of the history of mankind will reveal to you that there are certain individuals that have been raised up to champion a course and leave an impact in their generation in the most unusual way. They seem to possess extraordinary abilities and grace to succeed where others fail. Somehow on the inside they sense this call to duty which they just cannot ignore. From our text for today it became clear that sometimes these individuals may not even have an idea of the magnitude of the assignment before them. Gideon was destined to accomplish this divine assignment but it took the encounter with an angel of the Lord for him to even consider the possibility. Without the visit of the angel it may have taken a longer time for Gideon to even sense the need of this assignment. With supernatural encounters come supernatural direction and boldness to follow and accomplish destiny. Over the last 100years there are stories of divine visitations to people like the parents of Abraham Lincoln, William Brenham, Benny Hinn and others. With such visitations comes a new direction and responsibilities for such individuals. When the Lord chooses to reveal himself to an individual through the visitation of an angel, something awesome is bound to follow. For such individuals there is this unusual presence they have attached to their lives and work and anyone who choose to go against them thinking they are doing the work by their own power will end up contending with the angel assigned to help that individual succeed. Be careful what you say or do against a messenger of God.

ASK GOD FOR HELP (PART 3)

ASK GOD FOR HELP (PART 3)
TEXT: Colossians 1:12-17 (KJV)
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Life is full of surprises, no matter how hard you try and prepare there will still be something you did not plan for. It is a lie to think you have everything under control by your finite wisdom and ability. No matter how smart you are don’t be so foolish to use that for the devil. You need God to outsmart him. There are things that won’t just work out no matter how hard you try. Be wise to cry out to God for help before it get worse. If this life is made up of just human being then it would be alright to depend on your abilities, but the truth is so obvious. There are spirit beings, powers and forces that we just can’t explain away. The enemy is a spirit being that has been in this game far longer than you can imagine and that is why your experience is not good enough; he is more experienced in this game. But there is one who is far more experienced and powerful than the enemy, he is the one who knows the end from the beginning, he is the omniscient one. He is the all wise God. He is the one and only living God who revealed himself in the Bible as our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Call on him and trust him to help you and he will never ever fail you. See what Colossians 1:16 says about him, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”

Take some time to hand over that situation to God and you will one day testify of the goodness and faithfulness of God.

SUBMERGED IN POWER AND GLORY (Mark 9 :7-23)

SUBMERGED IN POWER AND GLORY (Mark 9 :7-23)
It is important to celebrate every little manifestation of the presence of God in our lives and meeting. It is not our right, it is a glorious privilege.
CONTEMPLATION
I wish I can give you a formula to help you know what to do to attract a particular desired degree of glory but that is only possible in the magic world. What we have is greater than magical acts. However, the truth remains that any man who is in continual fellowship with God never ceases to amaze his generation. To fellowship with God is to commune with wonder and glory and no man coming from such fellowship comes empty. From scriptural and contemporary accounts, when some mortals are visited by angelic beings they struggle to stand on their feet. The reason why they struggle to stand is because when such angles visited they came wrapped up in the awesome glory of God. When a man spends quality time in the presence of God similar things happen and people fall under their ministration or by mere contact with them. When this happens we say the man is anointed. Your time of fellowship is a time to be submerged in the power and the glory of God. Don’t joke with it.
PRACTICAL ISSUES
If your fellowship with God is intact nothing will become too much for you to handle.
Men and demons respect the anointing more than any title, credentials or position. Go for the presence of God.
Find some time to be alone with God today and take note of the things He brings to your attention. You will be amazed what will come out of such moments.

ANGELIC MINISTRY

ANGELIC MINISTRY
TEXT:  Daniel 8:13-19 (KJV)
13  Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14  And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sa    nctuary be cleansed.
15  And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
16  And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
17  So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
18  Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
19  And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. (For more reading see
 9:20-24)

There are certain mysteries in life that are far from our comprehension. Except the Lord gives us understanding we forever be in the dark. There are set times for certain glorious things to happen in our lives and we can only access them by some supernatural intervention. This is when the ministry of some angels assigned to reveal mysteries and to give and explain visions and revelations becomes very expedient. From the reading of our text for today it became clear that in chapter 18:13-19, the Lord by his angel Gabriel gave Daniel an unusual revelation but after the experience Daniel was still very confused about the vision. He could not tell the meaning of the vision. In his desperation to get the interpretation of the vision he went before God in prayer and repentance on behalf of his people Israel and while he was praying suddenly the angel Gabriel appeared to him and told him he was there to deliver the understanding of the vision from God. One lesson to learn here is that humility and repentance before God is a possible way to attract heavens attention in finding answer to difficult problems. The scripture says blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. Get right before God and supernatural encounters will become a reality for you.

AMBITIONS AND SUBMITION (5)

12 And Samson said to them, I will now put forth a riddle to you; if you can tell me what it is within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty linen undergarments and thirty changes of raiment.
13 But if you cannot declare it to me, then shall you give me thirty linen undergarments and thirty changes of festive [costly] raiment. And they said to him, Put forth your riddle, that we may hear it.
14 And he said to them, Out of the eater came forth food, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not solve the riddle in three days.
Some times in life the availability of great potentials and resources has led to the destruction of lives, properties and the destiny of a people much more than a lack of such blessings. In the abundance of much money not many have been careful in their spending. In the availability of great potentials not many have been careful enough to remain humble. With great blessing many have become too arrogant and careless. from the riddle of Samson as found in our text, a careful study will unravel to us some resinous lesions of life. He had said “Out of the eater came forth food, and out of the strong came forth sweetness.” although he was speaking of the Lion he had killed on the way as the eater and the honey found in it after some days as the sweetness from the strong, his own life reveals a paradox. The tremendous strength upon him was meant to deliver his people from the oppression of their enemy (the Philitines) but he used it to serve his own ambitions (though the Lord will often use it to work out his own purpose). “...out of the strong came forth sweetness.” Samson was strong but his life lacking sweetness for his people. There are a few persons who know they are highly gifted or talented who are careful enough to truly submits to the way of the Lord. They are strong and mighty with great achievements yet they are still very approachable and humble.

Out of the strong came forth sweet- they know how to be bold to accomplish great things and can be seen as a worrior but inspite of their exploits and achievements they are still sweet, approachable and humble.
