ACCOMPLISHING THE TASK (PART 5)
TEXT: Judges 1:27-36 (KJV)
27  Neither did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Bethshean and her towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
28  And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, and did not utterly drive them out.
29  Neither did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them.
30  Neither did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries.
31  Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob:
32  But the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: for they did not drive them out.

This passage is a sad and unfortunate list of failures and unaccomplished dreams and expectations. It is really sad because these people had no reason to fail considering the divine promises and backing they received from the Almighty God as found in Joshua 1, 23:4-6 and other passages. With the promises of God for their lives their victory was already settled in the spirit realm and all they needed to do was just to step out by faith and see God make it happen. This is the problem with most people today; with all the promises and assurance we get from the Lord many are still unable to step into the blessing of God for their lives.  It is one thing to pray and decree all the promises of God but it is another thing to work out your faith.

From our text, in verse 27 it is says  “Neither did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Bethshean and her towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.”   This is a clear indication that there are things, places, and possessions with our names and destinies attached to it but before they can become ours we must be bold drive out, dispossess the present inhabitants of our possessions. If you have gotten two out of ten you still have a long way to go. This could be your ability to work on your skill so you can become much more effective on your job or career till you become very relevant to the success of that establishment. If you fail to upgrade yourself one day you will become irrelevant and get laid off while others are occupying the place where you have been destined to reign. Do something about your destiny today.
