WAKE UP THE MIGHTY (PART 1)

WAKE UP THE MIGHTY (PART 1). JULY 25TH.

TEXT: Judges 6:11-14King James Version (KJV)

11 And there came an angel of the Lord, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
12 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
13 And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
14 And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?

The church is filled with people who are destined to be mighty men of valour but too many are just too timid to even realize that there is greatness on their inside.
Sometimes we walk more with a form of godliness rather than the reality of a glorious relationship with God who is the most powerful being. There is much more than the religious routine you are in. Sometimes we feel if we sing a little and pray specific prayers, then that will bring the anointing. Encountering God is not about the method or pattern; it is not a form.

When we focus on religion and tradition we cage the release of heavens glory in our lives and the giant in us fall asleep. From the start to the finish of Jesus’ ministry, He had no problem with the sinners, but with those who considered themselves spiritual; the Scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees. They were focused on traditions and religion but not on the passion of heaven. Severally, Jesus had to make them understand that there is something greater and mightier than the law but it was so hard for them to see, and unfortunately, this has not changed today. The church would have been better but for those who like the Pharisees, claim to be in spiritual authority only to overwhelm the people with the burden of the law. They believe they are the custodians of the things of the spirit, so if anything does not line up with their own agenda, they will ensure it does not succeed by fighting against it. They are the sanctimonious folks; they have a form of godliness, and if you are not spiritually sensitive you will become their victims. Jesus advises us to be wise as serpent because we have been sent as sheep in the midst of wolves. The wolves are those who claim to have spiritual understanding but they by their tradition make it hard for people to enjoy their relationship with Christ by shocking them with the demands of the law. Walk in grace and you see the glory of God.
