YOUR CHOICE & YOUR DESTINY (PART 3)

YOUR CHOICE & YOUR DESTINY (PART 3)

TEXT: TEXT: Matthew 4:1-7King James Version (KJV)

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

We live in a world where the pursuit of most people is to become famous. Even in the house of God this can be seen at different levels in different manifestations, from the clergy to the laity. Many of us are falling like a deck of cards and bowing down to the devil because we want fame. The reason some people find it hard to stay in the presence of God is because they are too impatient and cannot see how that will help them accomplish their ambition to become famous. It seem to be too slow a process to wait on the Lord and looks more reasonable to go after what they want. People like this often end up missing the glory. If you seek worldly fame at all cost, then you will not have problem bowing down to the devil.
The devil was the god of this world until Jesus came and took back the authority that Adam lost. He then handed back that authority to us. But all those who are after fame at all cost still bow to the devil as the god of this world.

A lot of people are crazy about fame and popularity. Christians who are meant to be light are trying to become darkness by buying into the idea of the prince of darkness and some have denied Christ so they can go where the money is. When the devil tried it with Jesus, He commanded Him to be gone and made him know that we are to worship God alone. You cannot share the worship of God with the devil. If you want to be in the world, be in it, but if you want to serve God, serve Him. But know this, while you are in church, you cannot be in the world, for friendship with the world is enmity against God. Whatever you are doing, please do it for God. There are some opportunities that are satanic snares that you should not even consider. If your heart is right it would not be difficult to discern what is of God and what is not. But if your heart is already made up to become important, popular and famous, you will be swept off your feet. You must make up your mind. The Lord wants us to be dressed in and carry His glory. The Lord wants to honor and beautify so many of us but the reason it has been delayed is because we have been going our own way. Be careful, your choice is your destiny.
