YOUR CHOICE & YOUR DESTINY (PART 2)

YOUR CHOICE & YOUR DESTINY (PART 2)

TEXT: TEXT: Matthew 4:1-7King James Version (KJV)

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

The choices we make in life are test and opportunities in disguise. Every now and then we all have the privilege to make choices and this is where we often fail or succeed in life. We saw in our previous message how our Lord Jesus chose the word of God over meeting the need to satisfy his physical craving for food. After that the devil told Jesus to throw Himself down from a very high height to prove that He has special powers but it did not work. Some of us are yielding to the temptation to prove that we have something special. The truth is that you do not need to prove to anybody that you are anointed. That which is truly light does not shout about its ability to shine, it simply shines.

When you really have light, people will talk about the unusual results from your life. But when you do not have it, you will be the one trying to tell people that you are somebody. The man who has gotten to the place of greatness knows very well that there is much more to succeeding in life than a pursuit for cheap popularity. Don’t forget, if you try to make yourself somebody when you truly need the grace of God to progress in life, you have only succeeded in cutting off the grace that has brought you this far. Stay humble and in due season God will lift you for others to see that you are truly somebody.
