LIBERATE YOURSELF FROM A SLAVISH MENTALITY (PART2)

NOVEMBER 4TH

Text: Romans 8:14-19Amplified Bible (AMP)

14 For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “[a]Abba! Father!”

16 The Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit [assuring us] that we [believers] are children of God.

17 And if [we are His] children, [then we are His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance], if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory.

18 For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us!

19 For [even the whole] creation [all nature] waits eagerly for the children of God to be revealed.

Everybody talk about living a glorious life but the sad thing is that they are doing nothing to attract that glory. This is the truth about the matter, without the glory you will go nowhere and you will be easily ignored by others.

Until a soul is liberated from the slavish mentality, even when the fellow claim to be born again nothing tangible will be recorded about them. They gave their lives to Christ but because they have not spent quality time in the word of God, they are still living with the philosophy of the life under the dominion of darkness. We understand from the gospel of John 6:62-63 that the words of the Lord they are spirit and they are life. This is the word that will impart the life of the Spirit upon a soul but too many are still slaves of the enemy in their mentality.

They speak of a life in Christ but they manifest a life under bondage. Our text tells us that we have not received the spirit of bondage, the spirit that cripples us with fear. There is a user of this devotional who have been ignored just like Jabez (1 Chron. 4:9) was, but God is saying to you right now, child of God, it is time to arise and shine for His glory is risen upon you (Isaiah 60:1). You have been ignored long enough and it is time for you to take the lead. There is a greater glory for you do your part and you will see it become a reality.
