UNDERSTANDING THE WORD (PART 4)

 NOVEMBER 30TH .

TEXT: Genesis 13:9-18 King James Version (KJV)

9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.

10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.

12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.

14 And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord.

If you were Abraham who took Lot from a nobody, to the place of great possessions, what will be running through your mind when Lot chose the best for himself? Do you think you would want to have anything to do with him for the rest of your life?

Well, the truth is that, men of the Spirit are not moved by the seeming progress report of the carnally minded. They understand that the spiritual rules the physical, and that God will never leave them stranded, neither will He allow their faithfulness go unrewarded.

If you have been faithfully serving the purpose of God, and it seems like not much has happened, don't be anxious. Your moment of glory is closer than you can imagine. There are blessings beyond your imaginations and calculations. Let God be your chief aim and one desire, then watch what follows. Just make sure your heart is determined to bring Him glory.

Get ready! It is going to come for those who will actually glorify His name with what He will give to them. This is for those who have proposed in their hearts to serve Him, like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego proposed in their hearts not to defile themselves with a portion of the Kings meat. These Hebrew boys went through what looked unreasonable eating vegetables for the entire period of the training, not considering the five-star treatment the others were given. Does it look like you are foolish to follow the part of obedience? Don't give up, glory is on the way.
